I'm using FW 1.72 on both controllers.|
I can Sync nes30pro #1 to retropie perfectly. It shows up as "8bitdo NES30 Pro"When I Sync the nes30pro #2 to retropie, It also shows up as "8bitdo NES30 Pro" and it errors and says it is already synced.
I think its because all nes30pro have the exact same BT ids. That is rather ridiculous but understandable since the all the firmware are the same. The hardware devs should have put a rom on each one with an individual ID, so that we wouldn't have this problem.
My work around is to "power on" the nes30pro#2 while holding "R1" which causes the bluetooth ID to change to "8bitdo NES30 Pro Joystick" and then allows me to sync the nes30pro#2. That is fine but it requires me to remember to always "power on" with "R1".
The other main problem is that the "R1" mode takes away the analog stick, and makes it a HAT switch. So I can't use the analog stick in n64, PSX, Dreamcast, or other analog systems.
I would like to use 4 or more nes30pro with the retropie, but That isn't possible right now.
What I'm asking the Devs to do is to release a set of firmwares, where each one has a different BT Id name. So I could flash Firmware#1 to controller #1 and its BT ID would be "#1 8bitdo NES30 Pro". Then Firmware #2 to controller #2 and the BT ID would be "#2 8bitdo NES30 Pro". Then the same for Firmware#3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, etc....
Could a Dev please post a beta firmware like that for me to try out?
If the firmware were opensource, it would be a pretty easy fix, and I could do it myself. I could even try just hex-editing it myself, but I would like to at least ask for help first, so that I don't brick my nes30pro.
Thanks so much in advance, I know you guys are pretty helpful.
